Diablo 3: d3-0-9558-Win-Final.MPQ Corrupt

So amungst all the problems facing Diablo 3 at the moment from login issue to server times, I experienced this issue during my first attempt to play the game.

This is a simple error and just as easily fixed. The error:

ERROR: The file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Updates\d3-0-9558-Win-final.MPQ" appears to be corrupt. You may need to download the file again"

Solution:

1. Exit the Diablo III launcher


2. Use Explorer to browse to the mentioned location C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III\Updates\


3. Remove the file d3-0-9558-Win-final.MPQ


4. Start Diablo III

Once you start the launcher again, this will initiate a re-download of the corrupt file, then once the file has been downloaded you will be able to play the game.
